Elite customer experiences demand an evolving fast-retail strategy defined in short time horizons (6-12 months) with close-to-consumer self-service channels including proximity-based inventory distribution, fulfilment network and on-demand delivery, with both traditional grocery standards (such as milk and bread) together with health-oriented dietary choices (such as salads and organics).

2.    There is the increasing complexity with the expansion of e-commerce logistics and the omni-channel model. The solution to this problem is to rethink food production/processing, shipping and location strategies, such as offering ship to store, in-store fulfilment and automated locker networks, using stores as a distribution center and increasing the marketing and visibility of high-volume and convenience-focused products. The enlarged convenience store (c-store) model potentially checks all these boxes.

3.    C-Stores, along with smaller-footprint stores (1000-2000 sq. ft.), allow for agile operational models for profitability and supply chain revenue growth as both proof of concept modelling and real-time analytics for lessons learned to help win the online grocery battle.

Doubling the Size of our Victoria Server Farm

Our retail and logistics users are demanding more sophisticated real-time data analytics, search and logistics planning algorithms.  We have responded by adding new features and capabilities to MightyCart and MightyExpress; our proprietary SaaS platform for creating omni-channel consumer experiences.  This is being driven by the need to create highly customised user experiences for the end customer.  We have responded by adding detailed product information into Mighty Cart including product ingredients, the ability to create highly customised products individualised for the end customer.

We are celebrating 15 year in business.  As we turn 15 and look to the future lets look back at some of the early work we did.

Online Groceries – One of our earliest applications we deploying online grocery for a local regional banner based in Victoria BC.  Following from that we have continued to work with a host of grocery retailers and food wholesales over those 15 years.   Helping grocery retails and food processors drive innovation into their operations still a major part of what we do.

Medical Equipment Systems – One of our earliest applications we a custom database used by over 40 home-care organisations in Canada.  Still in use today, our solution manages quality control on these medical devices. Helping Food Processors and the Parma sector achieve regulatory compliance is still a major part of what we do.

ERP – Over 10 years ago we created an ERP solution for a publicly traded reforestation company.  Today we are back deploying ERP solutions.

IT Services – We have an ever growing IT support team that not only hosts and manages our cloud, but also manages the day-to-day IT needs of many of our customers.

Omnion now offering last-mile delivery locker technology in North America

VICTORIA, B.C.–OMNION Inc., the newest member of the Mighty Oaks Group of Companies, is now offering last-mile delivery locker technology in North America based on European equipment. OMNION reached an agreement with LockTec GmbH of Weissenbrunn, Germany, to distribute cool locker technology in North America.

Lockers Are The Next Innovation in Delivery

For too long when consumers order groceries or other products online they need to be at home to wait for the delivery driver or risk the product being left unattended.  Online food suppliers need to utilise excessive packaging to deal with food being left in unrefrigerated locations.   This technology changes that.  Elder Matias, Mighty Oaks CEO said: “With major international retailers such as Amazon and Walmart getting into the online groceries market in Canada, traditional regional grocers need to adapt, and we are helping them, Smart Lockers are going to be a critical success factor going forward.” The multi-carriage approach even allows to create a local locker-infrastructure as backbone for any kind of unattended delieveries in order to support e.g. local farmers and any local services, not just limited to grocery-deliveries.
